Linear Low density polyethylene (LLDPE)
Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) is a linear polymer (polyethylene) that is a thermoplastic made from the copolymer of ethylene and another longer olefin. LLDPE has a significant number of short branches so they can slide against each other upon elongation without becoming entangled .It is marked with the resin and its recycling code is 4. (#4)
LLDPE is a very flexible material. Its melting point is
approximately 110°C (230 °F).
Excellent resistance to acids, bases and vegetable oils Dilute High tough, flexibility, relative transparency and almost unbreakable. is a cheap polymer with widely favorable mechanical and chemical resistance properties. Tubing made from it is broadly used, particularly for water, chemicals and gases. This plastic is a highly stable with low toxicity. In fact, many grades can even be used for food-contact and medical applications. Principal uses are in packaging film, trash and grocery
bags, agricultural mulch, wire and cable insulation, squeeze bottles, toys,
housewares, high frequency insulation, chemical tank or canal linings, heavy
duty sacks, potable water reservoirs, Floating Covers, storage tanks.
